A sequel to Death of a Deacon:
Eamon Duffy, a leader in the Irish-American community and a prominent banker, is murdered with a gunshot to the back of the head. Suspicion revolves around a circle of his acquaintances at the Irish Center, a cultural club and bar where Irish emigrees and Irish-Americans hang out, drink Guinness, shoot darts, and shoot the bull. Joe Curran and Meg Ryan, two Buffalo Police detectives, are assigned to the case. They receive assistance from an FBI Agent and a Scotland Yard Special Branch Chief Inspector. A mystery begins to unravel involving both sides of the ocean and spanning twenty years.
